I know about Phonetic names in contacts, but do they only help Siri understand on the input side only?

Cause she will still mispronounce it when saying it.

I have several instances but for example I have a business associate named Dathen.

His name is pronounced "Day Thin".
Siri pronounces it " Dath en" (Hard A).

In phonetics first name I have tried "Day-thin" "Day Thin" DayThin" and she still pronounces "Dath en".

I was under the impression the Phonetic fields helped Siri pronounce.

In my experience, the more you say it correctly, she'll start to learn it. For example, for my mom Lorrena, she used to say Lor-EEna. Now she says Lor-ay-Na.
