I have three Apple products - an M1 MBA(10,1) from 2020 (running Sequoia 15.3 Beta 2), a MBP 15-inch from 2015 (MBP11,4) also running Sequoia 15.2, and an iPhone 13 mini on iOS 18.3 Beta 2. On all three, I asked one question - What day was 22 September 1945 - which is a Saturday (I should know). I varied how the question was phrased - American style (month, day, year), British style (22nd...) and Metric style (day, month, year). Siri reported "It was Friday, September 21st 1945". On ALL three machines. Every time. Siri, Siri AI, Type to Siri, anything Apple that I could query. Same answer every time. I tried dates on either side - 22 March 1945 - Siri said Wednesday 21 March 1945. and so on... 1946 included.

Does anyone have an idea why? I think it pretty serious that Siri can't be trusted to report the correct date of a day in the 20th century (I didn't bother with more recent dates).

I reported this on Feedback Assistant on 05 September 2024.

I just think Siri is pretty useless for anything but the basic tasks. Information gathering his better with the other AI assistants and I am guessing if ChatGPT was an option to replace Siri people would replace it and get an actual decently smart AI assistant.
