So this is more happening to me recently and it’s gotten to the point where it’s completely useless. If I try to use hey Siri to dictate a text for instance, Siri stops listening after about three words.

I don’t talk slow or too fast and I talk clearly but it’s like she just decides to stop listening after 3 to 5 words. Getting an entire sentence in is a reason to celebrate.

I’ve tried talking faster and talking without breathing LOL but it doesn’t seem related to where you take breaths in your sentences or how fast or slow you talk. She just has a short attention span.

It’s made it to the point where it’s not even possible to dictate texts anymore. This does not happen when using the dictation button, only when you ask her to write a text for you. I never used to have this problem but then it happened once and then it’s just gotten worse and worse and worse.

I googled it and everything and people say that there’s no way to change this but all the posts are from years ago, nothing recent and I have not had this problem except in the last say six months or so.

Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone else know how to work around this? I drive a lot and that’s my only way to text people while I’m driving with the hands free and it’s become completely useless. And completely frustrating.

PS, her ability to correctly identify the words you say seems worse when trying to dictate a text this way as well. When using the dictation button in a regular text message she gets most of it right, but I’d say a good 70 percent of its wrong when you try to do it via hey Siri.

Siri has been cutting me off a lot since iOS 11. If you pause for the slightest amount, Siri stops listening. Quite annoying.
