Hey guys,

anyone notice that when you ask Siri to make a call or when Siri announces with AirPods in, Siri’s voice changes to something completely different? Not even a different iOS Siri voice, it sounds like how Bluetooth voice assistance sounds in your car before carplay. So far the only time it changes is when Siri is asked to make a call or when Siri announces when my AirPods Pro are in. Anyone else experience this?

I experienced this during the iOS 15 betas. Very disconcerting. My “normal” voice is British Female. The “substitute” voice was British Male but with a very strange accent. Your characterization of that as “Vintage Bluetooth” is pretty apt.

I installed the beta in mid August, and I’ve had this problem ever since. I’m still seeing it seemingly at random across several Bluetooth devices, including AirPods Pro, two vehicles, and a couple different Bluetooth speakers.

Same here, if I ask siri to make a call its very robotic but if I as the weather it's perfectly clea. Really odd bug, hope its fixed soon. I noticed in Siri it keeps saying its downloading a voice over Wi-Fi then stops then starts, not sure if thats part of the issue. I thought much of Siri's processing was on the device only now though.

I fixed this, nip to accessibility, voiceover, speech, click on the name of the voice you use click default, then if enhanced has not been downloaded just click that it takes a few seconds depending on your Wi-Fi speeds rate and it cures this issue. You can then delete the enhanced file in voiceover and siri sounds fine asking things like make a call etc. Most odd but it seems to work.
