I have two OG HomePods in different rooms and have been using them with my iTunes Match subscription for a good while. A couple of days ago they stopped allowing requests to play a playlist via Siri. I can request the same playlist via Siri on my iPhone but not on either of the two HomePods.

Here is what I have checked...

1. iTunes Match sub is active (and I also seem to have activated a 7-day Trial of Apple Music today too).
2. I have an internet connection.
3. I have Reset HomePod on both devices using the Home app on my iPad. Both HomePods reconnected normally.
4. I have signed all devices out and in of my AppleID.
5. Both HomePods respond to requests to change volume.

6. When saying "Hey Siri, play the playlist PlaylistName" to either HomePod, the response is "I couldn't find PlaylistName in your Apple Music Library".

7. When saying "Hey Siri, play the playlist PlaylistName" to the iPhone, the response is "Now playing PlaylistName" and it plays.

8. I can Airplay a playlist from either the iPhone or iPad to either HomePod correctly.

Any suggestions as to what I should check please?

Just an update to this since I have been trying a few different things...

Both HomePods are on 15.4.1.
I have Signed Out of AppleID on the HomePod then Remove Accessory.
After a power off, wait and power on, I Add Accessory via my iPad to get the HomePod back into my Home setup. This has associated it with my AppleID again.

I still have internet access and can ask Siri questions but I cannot request a playlist on the HomePod. Because I currently have the 7-day AppleMusic limited trial, the "nearest guess" to what my playlist was called is being offered instead. I have one playlist called "ultimate" and I am offered the rather strange single "Ultimate Cheese" by a group of the same name. Wierd!

I can definitely use my iPhone to ask for my Playlists as usual. It is just the HomePod that cannot find my playlists in Apple Music.

I'm having a similar problem, but mine seems to only affect playlists with years in them. My other playlists all seem to work. For example my 80's Music playlist and 90's Music playlists won't play on my HomePods with Siri, but will work on my iPad, iPhone and in CarPlay. Even when I changed the names to Eighties Music and Nineties Music, they still wouldn't work.

I renamed them again to something without a year, but now I have to wait for the HomePods to recognize (if they even will) the new playlist names. I found a thread on Reddit where this seems to be a common problem, but all the responses are about playlists with years or decades in them, which is the problem I am having. Are your issues with playlists that have years/decades, or other names?

No - mine are mostly short single word titles. It was working fine till a couple of days ago. I will speak to Apple UK on Tuesday after the Bank Holiday.

This has mysteriously fixed itself today making me pretty certain that it was an Account or database issue within Apple Music.

During the past few days I have "Remove Accessory" a couple of times and re-assigned the HomePods. I have also completely rebooted my Internet connection as well as powering off and actually unplugging the two HomePods.

This morning it was just working as expected without any action by me. Hmmmm.....
