New to Mac...

Well, I finally got my 17" Unibody today, and I want to look at the setting to check I got what I ask for, like I want to make sure it says I got the 2.93 processor and the 7200 rpm hard drive, I have been looking in the forum, and yes, I tried the search option, with no luck. Thank you for your help...

Turn it on
Find the Apple logo in the upper left-hand corner
Click it
Choose "About this Mac"
Click "More Info" - for the HDD etc
Boo-Ya

System Profiler sadly doesn't spit out RPM data on hard drives but you do get the model number.

Check the box the computer came in. It holds the secrets to what's inside and the MAC addresses of the network devices without ever opening it.

Thanks guys...

I have seen people posting what kind of HD they got since I guess Mac uses 2 brands, is there a way to see it with out opening the MBP?

The box, the box! :D

Right next to the several UPCs and MAC addresses is a list of the exact hardware specifications.

THanks, and sorry for all the dumb questions, but this is my first time on a Mac... :(
