Just out of curiosity, is the stuffit expander not universal or something?

I downloaded a .sit file, and when I try to open it I get the "choose application" garbage. When I try to search for stuffit expander, it doesn't show up.

Anybody?

I'm using stuffit on my MBP without issue.

Checking the Get Info for 10.0 though, it does say PPC. Not sure why you would be having issues though.

Yea, I can't even find Stuffit though.

I have a MBPro, and it's not under apps or utilies, and when i search for it, nothing.

I'm confused.

You'll have to download Stuffit, if you haven't already. As of Tiger, it's no longer included in the default install package. :)

aahhhhh......And the last horse crosses the finish line (me)

Good point, I was thinking they meant that when they selected Stuffit as the app to use, it didn't like it.

Yeah, just go to MacUpdate or Version Tracker and get the current version for free.

Is there a free download somehwere? All i see is the 80 dollar version on apple's website.

Dear kntgsp,

you have the most hilareous timing! :D

The moment you ask a queston it has been answered just before you could refrsh the page... LOL

StuffIt Expander is current a PPC (Rosetta) app, but Universal Beta that expires on October 1, 2006 (release version should be out way before then) is available. It seems to work well (much faster than PPC version) but it seems to be having issues with password protected RAR files.
