Thanks! and of course i do. I could show you some sites for some clients ive done if you would like also. shoot me an email.

Within seconds i'm completely confused.

Nice looking but the GUI is dreadful. I don't know what all those letters stand for? Nice idea but we are suppose to be communications specialists.

Nice looking overall though.

looks really good. i especially like the letters down the left hand side instead of whole words. that picture on the "design page" is beautiful

my goal with the letter system was that new visitors to the site would have to visit each section to understand what the letters stand for, exposing them to as much as I can. I am so tired of just laying out categorys so I'm trying to be innovative yet keep everything organized and understandable. I would love to hear some ideas. Thanks.

You are pushing the boundaries of usable vs innovative. If I was just browsing around different sites, I would have just become confused and angry that I had no idea what I was supposed to click on and what I was going to see when I did click on something. I would recommend 'conforming' by labeling each section because most users are impatient and expect to be told what they will see without actually going there. People won't guide themselves to every page without knowing what will be on them.

I'm also very confused. Did you take the photos of the people that you use as backgrounds on every page? If so, shouldn't they be in the photos section? And if not, It would be nice to know where they are from, because in all honesty, the photos of the people on all the web pages look more professional than those in the photos section.

I could use some ideas of what to do for the navigation, I would like to do something different instead of the same old crap but still make it useable, To me it is very usable and simple and tons of people have also told me that, but I am not the general public and I have also heard negative feedback on it, thats obviously why im tryin to get some help :) The photos I use on my pages are from an account with corbis its through my school, and I can use them for any of my projects. I dont like using my own photography because I am not skilled with it, It would lower the quality of the site dramatically. Any feedback of ideas for improvements would be great. Thanks for the critique!

lol i just looked at the url in the status bar before clicking to see what it was going to be

How about keeping the "letters" and on a roll over have the text pop up some how. I think that would be efficient and still be "usable".

Maybe in a pane in the window somewhere; that would actually work very well in my opinion and you can keep the same feel.

The text over the images is barely readable. Green on green isn't working for me. I would try to make that stand out much more.

Are you linking to an older version of the site in some areas? It has a completely different design in most of those areas which isn't consistent.

It looks great, I'm just nitpicking as I would want done with my designs, I think you have talent.

well i went ahead and did another build today with the text layed out for the buttons. let me know what you think. I also did a new label for my name, but im wondering if i like it better without one, and just keep it on the home page like the old design. Let me know! _/home.htm is the new one _ is the old one.

Im and advertising major not a photographer, I dont have anything worthwhile for images. I would love to be able to have my own library of content, but I just dont have the time or the equipment. I am very aware of how nice that would be, but I am not at that point now. When I do work for clients I use stock photography also, it's just all I can do.

I agree with 6914708 on that. Web designers are not always photographers or server side programmers. I don't think there is anything wrong with using others work as long as you are not stating you created it when in fact you haven't.

I think the nav is definitely more usable and looks good. I did have my heart set on the disjointed rollover I mentioned though. I'm sure you could be quite creative with that idea. imo.

I just noticed that your copy is not formated with HTML or CSS instead you are using an image instead, any particular reason for that?

I definatley am not claiming the works as my own, it is legally mine to use from corbis, and I am just using it to illustrate my advertising a bit, and set a feel.
I do know how to do the rollover but I couldn't figure out a way that really appealed to me to do it. So I decided for now to just lay out the text. I think it is effective yet still is fairly appealing. It doesn't hold that minimalistic art feel as much as it did, but it's effective.
I never got into formatting anything. I have just always tossed images in. The reason I dont is because I have no education in it at this point, and I'm just trying to do what I can with what i know so far. Thanks for pointing that out.
Any other suggestions or comments, I really do appreciate them.
