Does anyone subscribe to any, if so what site(s)?

On one hand, I see a benefit as I can understand that the content creators need to make money, but on the other hand, from my very limited knowledge I still see advertisements.

What sort of sites?

I subscribe to a few current affairs publications - Foreign Policy, the Economist, - for example, and I don't see ads.

I don't. The only paywalls I encounter with any kind of regularity are news sites, and it's just as easy for me to get news from another site.

Maybe you are using an ad blocker?

I subscribe to The Economist. At the top of the web page there are third party ads. On the right side are ads for other Economist products. At the bottom of the page are classified ads for job positions and a pop-up for buying Economist subscriptions as gifts.

Actually, in one of my computers, I have an adblocker installed, but not in the other.

Same with me. Or if you really want to get into Forbes ;) ...

Get to the AdBlocker-block-page, pause AdBlocker, reload the page, re-enable AdBlocker, then reload the page. I think that's the order that it's in -- hard to remember when it isn't right in front of me.

edit --

I'm sorry. I was referring to ad-supported websites. Paywalls are different. Don't mean to derail the thread.

Used to be with the Financial times, I don't remember any adds unless it was them tryingvto upgrade me.
