Hi,

I know its a bit of a strange question but does anyone know the dimensions of the box for the MacBook?

I'm planning on getting my girlfriend one for her birthday and want to get it sent to my work place. I wanna see if it will fit my bag so I won't get mugged for it on my way home.

TIA

joe

i was hoping my standard sized eastpack backpack. might have to bring a holdall if its too big for that

grr! might have to drive in the day it gets delivered then. nearly got mugged by some kids on my street the other day for my phone, don't want them to have the satisfaction of nabbing a shiny new MacBook :D

on a different note, what are the delivery times for a stock MacBook? I want to place a order as soon as the back to school promo is running in the UK. I'm guessing that's gonna be 1st August, but my girlfriends birthday is on the 9th...will it make it?

can you run into an apple store? do you have one near you?

not really.

nearest one is London Regent Street so I'd have to go on a weekend. Also, I'm not a student, my girlfriend is going back to Uni this year hence the need for a laptop. I was planning on trying to sweettalk the phone agents to allow me to get the HE discount + back to school promo since I'm buying it for my girlfriend. If that doesn't work, I've got a mate who works at a university who can help me order it online.

It's small. About the size of a medium-sized arts case. It probably won't well fit in a pack, but any large paper shopping bag with handles like you'd get at a department store or market, it will fit fine.

For God's sake get a taxi or arrange a lift with someone. Don't post here on the 9th August saying 'Bah, just got mugged and lost a new MacBook, if only I'd.............'

If only life was so easy. I work quite far from where I live so a taxi or lift is out of the question. I'll probably drive to work/back home that day tho (hate driving - especially for 2ish hours there then another 2 hours back)

ok, all sorted now - I will drive!

just have to wait patiently til august (only 42 days to go!)
