Currently running MacOS Sonoma 14.7.5 on MBPro 14" M3 Max. Zero issues.

I waited to see if there are reports of issues with MacOS 15.5. Not yet comfortable.

I am leaning towards skipping MacOS Sequoia all together. Thoughts?

You're going to hear about issues in 16, too

But if none of the features in 15 floats your boat, I guess you may as well wait since rumors have it that 16 will have a refreshed look

Whatever you choose, it'll be obsolete the moment its downloaded to your device - and they'll be announcing the next Beta.

Heck, we see the posts about iOS 19 now...

OS 16 probably won't be officially released until late August or September.
Do you want to wait that long?

A refreshed look, huh?

I would love to say it couldn't be uglier, but I have "confidence" that it can be.

every version of the OS, since the beginning of time, has it's detractors, it's proponents. with every version, there are people with issues. every OS has bugs.

so move forward now, or wait; your call. no one here can guarantee anything... 🤷
Incorrect. PC-DOS 3.30 was universally loved and bug-free. Plus it brought support for 1.44MB 3.5” floppies. ;)

I'm going to start running the OS one version behind when macOS 16 comes out. The new features haven't been that enticing, and each point release seems to bring random bugs, which sometimes don't get fixed until the next one. (Just a couple of examples: Full disk backups don't work with macOS 15.2, fixed in 15.3. Issues with Canon RAW images in 15.4, fixed in 15.5.) When you run a version behind, at least it is "feature-stable" and the updates every couple of months are just security fixes and pretty targeted bugfixes.

So. If that sounds like a reasonable idea to you, stick on Sonoma until September, and then upgrade to Sequoia (15.7) when macOS 16 comes out. Stick on the Sequoia 15.7.x chain for the next year.

This is actually the approach I am seriously considering.
