While preparing to trade in my 2016 MacBook, I got distracted and skipped a pretty important step. I went through the steps to erase the hard drive but got distracted and didn’t reinstall the original os. I’ve tried to reinstall via internet recovery and also via the backup I created before this endeavor. The current screen I see is of the logo and a full progress bar. Any thoughts?

Don't worry.

I had a bigger problem earlier this year when trying to trade in my old MacBookPro.

It booted up to the desktop and let me sign-in, but I couldn't get it to run anything and so couldn't wipe it.

Internet restore didn't work either.

Sent it off to the Apple Trade-In anyway and they gave me the full amout they had estimated.

( Not much as it was a Late-2011 model. :) )
