To all the Mac pro audio geeks out there; this is looking like the first time in years I’m going to skip an entire macOS (Catalina). It’s disappointing that Apple have slipped this far with their QC. 🤦🏻♂️
Well we can agree there’s a high likelihood with Apple’s track record lately that 10.16 will suck too. LOLsorry, what are you getting at? i live on logic X, and have been working steadily (and comfortably) since catalina first dropped. so, what's your point? and why would you assume that 10.16 will be, at least on your terms, better? wait until we get there, and the forums erupt with "the new OS sucks; catalina was so much better"...![]()

I’ve been doing this since System 7. Welcome.not sure about 'too', since i'm having good experiences with catalina. i don't get it; we go thru this with every new mac OS (i've been doing this since 10.3); when a new one comes, everyone 'suddenly' remembers how much better the previous OS was... the same one many of the same people were whining about a year earlier. ad infinitum...
I agree with that but Apple more than likely will come out with a Major Release this fall.I hope they just release a bug fix for Catalina this year. They have a lot to make up for in next major release.

Stop calling what was posted here "whining". It seems that is what you are doing. Being so quick to pounce on someone's post simply because you have a different perspective doesn't make you right, it makes you wrong.and am not competing here, just pointing out that the 'current system sucks, previous system was better' rants are a constant here. discussing issues, fixes, needs, etc is so much more useful than whining and ranting (am not singling anyone out tho).
but again, myself & others are doing our pro audio work in catalina, so not sure why you're skipping it... or why 10.16 will be better. still, if you are happy, and getting your work done... then all is well.
I’m skipping Catalina because I’m actually doing critical professional work for clients. I don’t know what “others” you’re referring to in addition to yourself doing pro audio work in Catalina, but it certainly isn’t anyone in the elite group of mixing and mastering engineers I know. We aren’t touching it with a ten foot pole. Stability is key in our business. Not the flashy new toy OS.and am not competing here, just pointing out that the 'current system sucks, previous system was better' rants are a constant here. discussing issues, fixes, needs, etc is so much more useful than whining and ranting (am not singling anyone out tho).

I would agree completely with your assessment.I haven't been one of these people. I generally noticed an improvement in performance and more optimisation with releases since Sierra. Then Catalina strikes and it makes my iMac feel old. Back to Mojave and all is good again. ( all I want is dark mode anyway). So back to Mojave and put on the Catalina default wallpaper and it feels like it should. Catalina has some serious issues.
Catalina is definitely a step backwards.I haven't been one of these people. I generally noticed an improvement in performance and more optimisation with releases since Sierra.
