Apple yesterday announced the new iPad Pro, and naturally this means previous generation models have begun hitting record low prices. On Amazon, you can find $200 off nearly every 12.9-inch model of the 2021 iPad Pro, with the sole exception of 2TB configurations.

These sales are only available on Amazon, and as of now only the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is seeing notable discounts. Anyone okay with owning a previous generation model will be able to find solid deals among the price drops, which start at $899.00 for 128GB Wi-Fi.

Definitely a better buy. Not sure a potentially hotter chip (even if faster and the ludicrously fast M1) and the ability to hover your pencil over the screen is a compelling sell, until all M1 units are completely sold out and unavailable.

It was $300 off recently from Walmart before the sale ended so I would wait it out for a lower price.
This is the info I was looking for, thanks! ill wait a bit and hope to get a better discount before stock drops off

Why don’t they never have a sale on the cellular version one?

Edit: I do see now that they do have some on sale. But I prefer the 11 inch version

Definitely a great deal. The M1 is already overpowered for what the iPad is capable of.

I wish Apple would release a 12.9” version of the Air or the new base iPad for those who don’t need/want the full bore Pro.

Only in the US because of course...

Rest of the world has to contend with price increases instead because screw us I guess.

Been sitting on a 2018 11" iPad Pro waiting for the XDR screen to come to the 11". I finally pulled the trigger to the bigger 12.9" 2022 M2 model. Pretty annoyed that Apple still refuses to give XDR to 11", as it's the perfect size. Maybe spending some time with the larger iPad will change my mind. But, bigger isn't always better.

After being a 12.9" pro user for 4+ years I'm actually considering going smaller.
There's times I like the 12.9 a lot, and there's times I want a 9.7" again. If the new iPad was priced better it'd be an easy sell as a 'side iPad'.

The new 12,9” ones are 1500€ and up here. Definitely not value for money considering how clumsy iPadOS is compared to either Windows or macOS. I wish we had sales like this but the previous gen is max 7% off right now.

On the other hand, it will give the second hand market a well deserved boost. I just wish Apple had any competition in the premium art tablet space.

The Surface Pro line is horrible for drawing and the mobile Wacom products are decades behind in development. It’s actually sad to watch Wacom slowly devour itself. All they do is bump up pressure levels every few years and remove physical features on the tablets so they can sell more peripherals. The newer pens are incredibly bad compared to intuos 4 quality.

If the Chinese brands manage to put together a stable version of their software, they will topple Wacom within years. But even then, it’s only in the larger pen-enabled screens. The iPad has a virtual monopoly in the lightweight sector.
