Ah okay, never tried Sky Player on the iPhone/iPad though, only used it on my PC and Xbox when my TV was being used.

What's the quality and stuff like? Is it delayed? I remember Sky Player on the PC being at least a minute or so behind.

Damn, was hoping for something more. I mean the way they've been advertising it I expected something special.

They said it would be released today thunderbunny, Mikey has seemed to have found it so I assume so, I'll have a look later.

It's not in the app store, on Sky's website it says the app is coming soon and to register for an email for when it's released.

I'm presuming people are just using the PC version or xbox version if they're using Sky Go now.

I read somewhere it's released today, also I think a billboard near my house says today's date. I guess today's date is when they rebrand the name to Sky Go for the 360 and PC and nothing more?

It is more than Sky Player, for a start you don't pay an additional fiver a month if you already pay for Sky Sports 1 & 2, and if you have the movies package as well, you get Sky Movies on Sky Go as well, which aren't on the Sky Player app.

But you don't get movies on demand tho it's just streaming the channel. The xbox one gives you on demand stuff from many more channels like sky one and that.

Hope the iOS app gets much more expanded!!

No complaints about it here, much better then Sky Player and as suggested already you dont have to pay the additional fiver and if you have the Movies you also get them.

The app works great on my iPad.
I just wish there were more channels from my subscription available, apart from movies and sports...

Just to clarify... I think some people are getting confused between Sky Player and the Sky Mobile app. Sky Player is the free online offering, which from memory showed the majority of channels (as long as you had the packages). The app on the other hand offered a few of the channels and you had to pay £5 p/m.

This app is somewhere between the two. It offers Sky Sports 1-4, ESPN, Sky News and four of the movie channels.

You can sign in using you Sky ID - used for the website.

Watching on wi-fi the picture is excellent and is near as dammit live. Watching over 3G was very good too, quality was more than adequate.

If you have sky sports or movies it's a no brainer of a download :D
