Recently, the Sky News Apple TV app has just completely stopped working on my Apple TV HD running tvOS 18.3. You launch the app and just get a blank black screen. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, and that seemed to work for one day, before it reverted to not working again. I’ve also tried restarting the device, but still have the problem. I then went to the Sky News app page in the app store and noticed that an Apple TV version of the app is no longer listed - only iPhone and iPad versions. The app is still available in the app store on the Apple TV and states that the app is compatible with my device. However, I can’t find any news anywhere about Sky News discontinuing the app, or even anyone else reporting problems running the app. Does anyone else out there use the Sky News Apple TV app? Is it working foe you? Super frustrated by this!

Working fine here on the AppleTV HD, it’s also showing in the store.
UK if that makes a difference.

For what it’s worth, I’m in the US and was able to install and run Sky News. Haven’t tested it over time.

As a backup you might consider Pluto TV that has a Sky News channel. It’s free.

Working fine for me. I'm on Spectrum internet. They're showing that clown tRUmp right now. I'll change to something else.

This exact thing occurred yesterday when I attempted to watch Sky News. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, rebooted multiple times, no change in results. There was a recent TVOS update and this same issue happened shortly after the previous update.

The Sky News iPad app worked fine.

It was working by evening but obviously there’s an ongoing issue here with no known cause, just conjecture at this point.

Starting once again yesterday, the SkyNews app isn't working again.

Opening the SkyNews app on the Apple TV yields only a blank, black screen as the OP stated he receives.

This is the second time this has happened

Apple TVs all running 18.4.1 and the SkyNews app is version 3.4.1

Two of the Apple TVs are A1625 (Apple TV HD) and one is a A2737 (Apple TV 4K (3rd generation)

Each was rebooted, the SkyNews app was deleted and reinstalled on each and rebooted again. No issues with the SkyNews app on the iPads, so not an issue with the SkyNews stream.

In the past, this seems to clear up in 24 hours or so, but that this is happening each month after TVOS updates is quite odd.

Anyone else seeing this? I know the OP and I cannot be the only ones experiencing this.

I have five Apple TVs--all different models, I think. All running the latest software. All running the Sky News app with no issues.

How often do you use it? Do you use it daily? and curious, where are you located? U.S., Canada, U.K., or elsewhere?

Edit: Never mind, I see you earlier said you’re on Spectrum, like I am, so obviously you are in the U.S.

Yeah, it’s still a problem. When you get that blank, black screen, if you minimize the app, and just let it sit like that, then come back later, it eventually shows the home screen. I’ve deduced that the problem is a connection error between the app, and the Sky News servers. I don't know why, but that is what it is. Occasionally when you get the blank, black screen, and you let it sit for just a few minutes, you’ll suddenly see the spinning gear start, and it will connect and you’re good to go. Often however, it has to sit for much longer. How long, I don’t know, but it seems to eventually connect. It is still obviously a proboem.

Generally once a day except on the weekends. Once I turn it on it's on all day. Running fine right now 6:am CDT.

Your description echoes exactly what I'm experiencing here.

Once upon a time, it ran pretty much all day. However, for whatever reason I don't have it on all time any longer. But during the past week or so it has been on more than not, and I haven't had any problems.
