OK so doing a bit of a refurb on my room, got both Sky+ (minus live pause and record as its a multi room box) and a Elgato EyeTV Hybrid (purchased before i got Sky) and quite fancy having my MBP hooked up to my new TV and
just noticed that the connector on the EyeTV is the same as the ariel socket on the Sky Box, so was wondering, with help of a ariel cable is it possible to run sky+ through my MBP using the EyeTV as a way to get the live pause and record functionality?

Techically i think it's possible, it'll certainly connect up fine as it should go:

Sky Box > eyeTV > MBP > TV

Everythings still in boxes at the moment though, and don't have a DVI/HDMI cable to connect the mac to the TV, so can't hook it all up and see for myself.

I don't have sky so I can't confirm this, but in theory what you want should work. Of course, you won't be able to change channels or schedule recordings from EyeTV.
