Hello.

My parents live in a country where the sole telecom provider blocks VoIP, viz, Skype. I know they can buy service from a VPN provider; however, I have two Macs (one MacBook Pro and one MacBook, both with 10.4.11), a DSL connection, and a website with 5G storage. Two questions:

Can I set up a VPN on my website (I do not own the servers, I only have the space)?

If so, what recommendations can you (all) make about accomplishing this?

Thanks!

If you want to run a VPN server, you'll need a VPS or dedicated server -- shared hosting won't cut it.

Thanks for answering!

So am I able to turn my MacBook or MackBook Pro into a "dedicated server"? (I prefer to do it with the MacBook.)

Szia (that's not a swearword),
