The official Skype iPad app was out in the app store, but within 5 minutes it was removed. I had downloaded it, before it got removed, but the app just crashes when it tries to launch contacts.

Anyone manage to get hold of it, and working?

Edit: It is now officially on the App Store! I can confirm it works on a JB 4.3.3 iPad 2.

can you pm a link to the ipa if you upload and i will edit the plist to get it working :)

I am at work so just downloaded app, but they block skype here.

When I launch it I get an error about unmodified device requirements since I'm jailbroken.

Can anyone confirm it works on JB iPad 2's running 4.3.3?

Thanks!

It works. It gives you a dialog box about it not being officially supported, but it let's you log in and all functions work.

iPad 2 4.3.3 JB

i got the same "this version of skype only works on unmodified iOS" or whatever..then i proceeded to log in and it keeps crashing after the "loading contacts" screen..anyone else having this problem? running 4.3.3 jailbroken..tried restarting ipad, that didnt help

I got the same error message on my jailbroken 4.3.3. "only works on unmodified iOS." But I was able to launch and log in to Skype. It took a long time to scan the contacts. Maybe you have too many local contacts? Have you tried removing Skype and re-downloading from the app store?

nvm i got it working..i had to close the app and restart it..works fine now! anyone know how to prevent it from loading all of your old convos? it slows the app down sooo much!

Mine loaded blank. I wish it loaded the old conversations.

Does anyone know what kind of personal info or hardware info about the iPad that Skype is sending back to its server? UDID? IMEI (for 3G model)? Email address etc.?

Why is it checking for JB status? This has me worry that the developer is poking around your install for sensitive info (even if this is Skype).
