I recently downloaded My Data Manager on my iPhone and noticed that Skype, all throughout the day and night, uses a bit of bandwidth (whether 3G or wifi). I rarely use Skype, but I've noticed that it uses much more than any other background app that I rarely open. Does anyone know why this is? Thanks!

skype is always on and does not stop unless you log out. It keeps checking for new messages and calls. So it is advisable to log out if you don't plan to use it.
Really, they need to fix it to work like emails. rather than always chugging down data.
