skype help

heya, skype starts up when I boot the mac.. I find this annoying, and can't find anything in preferences to stop this from happening.

Any suggestions?

I went into System Preferences… Accounts… Login Items… and deleted Skype from there. Now I log in and Skype doesn't automatically open.
Worth a try?

Hi,

you can also control-click the icon in the Dock and uncheck Open at Login, as described in this post over at Mac Kindergarten.

Odd that they didn't include it in the Preferences though…
Not many people think of Control-clicking dock icons.

Also, you can just click and hold on the application and the dock, and the menu appears as well.
