i'm running windows 7 on bootcamp. on my skype version 4.0 i test the mic on the control panel is ok but when on skype it isnt. i have no idea why? when i'm on call with my friends they cant hear me speak but when i play music through youtube they can hear me. why is it so? my hardware is cirrus logic. this is weird? is there some configurations wrong? help!

i tried audio settings under skype and also under control panel. when i talk the microphone volume is moving but not on skype i have no idea but weird thing is i play music on youtube and my friend can hear that but not my voice. its so stupid!

i had the same problem too!! it was very frustrating at the time......

make sure you have the latest version of Skype 4.2.xxx
go to Control Panel>Ease of Access>Start speech recognition
it should work after that, if not go into skype and play with mic settings again

if not use a headset while u work it out, skype worked with a headset

hope it works!! :)

What i did

What you do is:
- Go to Control Panel
- Go to Speech Recognition
- Go to Advanced Speech Options
- Go to Audio input
- Go to tab Communications
- Click: Do nothing
Worked for me, i also have a macbook pro, i installed bootcamp too. Now skype works fine:D
Let me know if it works:p

If you mic is not usb powered it won't get power in bootcamp, major flaw, but thats just how it is. It simply will not work.
