Hey

About two hours ago I bought the new MacBook (2.4) and because I'm home sick I decided to use Skype to call home. However its not working and I need some help.

When I call Home - i get the message "other party has problem with sound devices"
When Home calls me i click answer and its changes to: "Lost Connection"

Please someone help me.

Sounds very weird. I have never had a problem with skype with OSX.
Check firewall on/off in the system preferences(security).

Also try to reset your skype settings by deleting file in your home directory:
Library/Preferences/com.skype.skype.plist
and restart skype again.

It could be just that, your other end is having problems. Try adding a "test" user named "echo123" to do a sound check call.

Hey,
Thanks for the reply, everything at my end seems fine... spoke to someone else from the UK, so i know its not me in the USA.

Same problems, but with my home contact - any suggestions on who to fix it?

Thanks again, greatly appreciated

you know I had the problem about a 1 1/2 month ago. The solution was to find an older version of skype and completely take the newest version of skype off my computer.

Hope this helps but if not sorry.

Been trying to figure out that problems since yesterday, and just got my brother to send a screenshot of whats happening at their end.

They're using a Sony Vaio - which has a built-in camera and microphone...

But I'm never on a windows computer (as they don't work), so I can't help them. Can anyone on here shed any light on the situation.
