SL crashes at 'Save as..' promt 8 out of 10 times

Hello Forum,

I have installed SL on my 17" 2,9 Ghz UniBody MBP.

Before that I had 10.5.8 installed for about 6 months everything worked fine.

I hope someone might know a fix for the problem:

Regardless of what application I use, whenever I choose to Save as or Open and I get the file-browser finder window the computer crashes with no warning (8 out 10 times). I have experienced in both CS4, Word and even in Adium if I want to attach a file.

My machine is almost useless because of this and I have 5-10 crashes every day and I have tried to repair disk permissions and it only found 2 issues!?

What could cause this? Any suggestions?

What install path did you choose? The short and the quick or the long haul through the scary looking forest with flying lions and evil looking rabbits?

The path is the systemdisk, same location as 10.5 was installed before.

I did a simple upgrade.

Something wrong with your installation, I would guess. Mine hasn't done anything like that, and I really really tried.

Anything weird happen during installation?
