Preview = Smooth QT X = Choppy
Having problem with running video files with Snow Leopard (SL). When I double click on video (home movie H264 HD) says:

"You can't use this version of the application QuickTime Player with this version of Mac*OS*X. You have QuickTime Player 7.1.6."

If I open QT X I can load video but choppy.. (had this problem with QT7)
If I open the video using preview (space) it plays perfect.

SL seems to default to play videos on old QT7 instead of QTX. I went to file prefs and changed the default player from QT to QTX (names same icons different). Now launches fine but does not fix choppy video issue.

I hesitate to install latest version of QT7 player as I am afraid will overwrite QTX files.

Any ideas why preview would play smooth but QTX plays choppy? Do not they use the same engine?
Suggestions? My current plan is to learn to love preview and wait for Apple Fix :rolleyes:
Thx,
Hotoru
