What problem? I've been using filevault & time machine for ages without a problem.

I had a problem where I tried to restore a Time Machine image, that had my home folder Filevault encrypted, but after I did a restore, I couldn't login and get my data.

OP - is that what you are talking about?

I think the problem is that you have to logout to get Timemachine to back up your file valuted home directory. Plus the fact that the timemachine UI doesn't work for restoration of individual files - you have to mount the backup in finder instead.

I would be very happy if this has been resolved with SL.

yes, exactly. this is the issue i was referring to.

I hope they don't change that, I don't want my home dir being backed up while the filevault image is mounted.

Nothing has changed. Using Time Machine & File Vault in combination the behaviour is exactly the same as under Leopard.
