SL install disc not loading in 10.4.11 MB

10.4.11 Intel 2GB MB

This is the 2nd $29 SL disc that won't load on my MB. I returned the previous disc for this disc and am getting the same issue. MB tries to read the disc then spits out the disc after about 20 seconds. No message shows up on the screen or anything. Not a disc drive issue since other CDs work fine. Were both discs defective or is there some other issue? Haven't others been able to upgrade directly from Tiger to SL?

Have you tried putting the disk in at boot-time and selecting it there (hold option for boot devices list or hold C for CD boot), rather than from the Finder?

The $29 package is for people who had Leopard already installed on their Macs. Tiger users are supposed to get the $169 package. However, there is a loophole with the $29 package that Tiger users can do to get SL, but I will let someone else inform you of that if they want. It's all about the honor code and buying the proper software for one's needs.
