I am getting ready to erase my hard drive and do a fresh install. I do this every so often. So my question. If i do this and erase everything like a restore can i just pop in the SL disc and it will work or do i need to put in the Leopard disc and then upgrade to SL.

Also before if i wanted to restore on leopard i could just put in the disc and it would do it for me. How can i restore on SL.

Thanks for any help or idea's

Load up the Snow Leopard DVD, format the drive with Disk Utility and then you can install SL straight from that.

It's called "erase and install."

It writes over your old data. It will look like a brand new install, you don't need to play with the Leopard disk.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I figured it worked that way but i did not want to do it and then be left with a paper weight.
