Sleep seems to have stopped working all of a sudden on my recently upgraded iMac. The only thing I remember doing was repairing disk permissions and changing a few iChat preferences.

The console shows the following;

kernel Sleep failure code 0x00000000 0x11000000

A reboot does not clear the condition.

Does anyone have any insight into this? It's pretty bizarre, came out of nowhere.

I'm seeing the same problem. Brand new Macbook Pro upgraded to Snow Leopard. It was sleeping fine for a while, but now it never goes to sleep automatically.

Do you use LIttle Snitch? My macbook would not go to sleep when I just installed SL, but installing a newer version of Little Snitch solved that problem.

My sleep problem was being caused by iStat Menus.

Bringing back a dead thread: same here: iStatMenu. I had the free for 2 weeks app running, but uninstalled it as I already have MenuMeters installed which does enough for me.
