When I'm listening to a playlist I will often put my Ipod to sleep, then continually wake it up and put it back to sleep to change volume and skip tracks. I don't unlock it, but do double tap home key to get to the music controls.

If I do this lets say 10 or 12 times in an hour how does this affect the battery usage on a scale of 1-10 assuming 1 is never waking it up (just plays music) and 10 is never turning off the screen.

I'm guessing it is about a 2 or a 3 on my scale (patent pending), but I wonder if the sleep and wake process burns more juice than I think and it would be better to turn down the brightness and just leave the screen on.

Thanks for the help.
