Sleep external drive ONLY?

Hey gang.
I've got an internal 250GB HDD and an external 300GB Firewire drive.
I know that you can choose to have the drives spin down in System Preferences, but I was wondering if it was possible to have only one of the two drives spin down (being the external drive)?

By default, a drive not in use for a certain amount of time will spin down. So, if you're using the internal drive but no the external drive, the external should spin down eventually whilst the internal remains active. Is this what you're wanting?

If you have the developer tools installed (including the CHUD tools), Spotlight search for "Spindown HD"

just eject it and remount it with disk utility when you need it again.
