When you set your alarm in Sleep Focus, you have to choose a sound/chime.

Trying to figure out if there’s a way to just wake up to the haptic vibration with no audible sound. It doesn’t look like it’s an option, though - you have to choose a sound.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who would prefer just haptic vibration-only without the chime (?).

The sound/chime can wake your partner, where as just the haptic would be totally silent.

I don’t know why this is not an option.

Even the regular Apple Watch alarm has an audible sound with the vibration and no option for vibration-only (that I'm aware of).

My alarm is silent/haptic only, but I use the alarm app, not sleep focus

I just tried that, and there was an audible alarm.
I have my phone set to vibrations only, had this for years and my watch is set to mirror my phone settings for notifications etc.
I’ve used the watch as my “alarm clock” for I think since I got my first one (S0) almost 10 years ago.
There got to be settings to turn to bibrate/haptics only, just it works for me as it is so I don’t check those settings

I couldn’t have my devices on vibrate only.

I know the sound of different notifications, so that’s useful to me.

I think it is ridiculous that you can’t set the watch’s alarm to vibrate only.

Has anyone else had the experience of discovering the sleep schedule alarm for the first time when you accidentally set it and it went off randomly in the middle of the day?

The first time it happened to me, I left my phone in another room and all of a sudden I hear this strange disembodied sound coming from down the hallway. The thing about the sleep alarms is that (at least to me) they sound eerie if you don't have any context.

As I tiptoed into the room where the sound was coming from, I felt like I was in a scene from a horror movie and there's this ominous child-like melody is being played off key right before the jump scare scene.

Because that was how I got introduced to Sleep Schedule, to this day I still get a sense of foreboding whenever I hear it. I can't turn it off fast enough.

Same here.

Y’all can only get haptic only alarm if your Apple Watch is in theatre mode or silent mode. 📴

Otherwise it’ll ring.

If your watch isn’t on mute but your iPhone is, the alarm will go off with sound.

Personally I use only my watch for alarms. I don't use the sleep schedule alarms - I set different repeating alarms for weekday and weekend (which I can turn on or off as needed), my watch is always on silent mode (as is my phone - I am one of those people who think devices should not make sounds except in rare cases), and my alarms never make a sound - which is exactly what I want, as I don't want them to wake my wife.

You're right - it should be an option.

It’s stupid that this isn’t an option.

Hey everyone! Agreeable, since this feature was first introduced in iOS 10 for iPhones and watchOS 7 for Apple Watches, there’s no way to silence the alarm on your Apple Watch without turning on silent or theater mode. That’s why I created a Siri shortcut for sleep tracking that turns on silent mode on both my iPhone and Apple Watch ⌚️ when it starts tracking my sleep.

Otherwise, the only option is to completely suspend the alarm but still track your sleep. I tested it by sliding the volume of the sleep alarm, but it will still sound off unless you turn on silent mode 📵 on your watch.

There’s no option to turn off the sound regardless. Neither iPhone nor Apple Watch (⌚️) has an ‘none’ alarm tone option.

Y’all else reckon that the alarms on your iPhone can still audibly go off regardless of silent mode 📴 or not, but on Apple Watch it goes off automatically without sound and mirrors it when the watch is is silent mode ikr? 😅

Ok, this makes sense. So the simple fix seems to be, just put your watch on silent and you should just get the vibration and no sound (?)

Yes for both sleep tracking alarm for waking up, and all alarms set on the Apple Watch ⌚️.
