Sleep light always on

My hard drive failed on my G4 15" 1.25 Ghz Alu powerbook today. So I went and put in a new hard drive. Well now the sleep light will come on and shut off randomly while the computer is on. It always seems to work while it is sleeping. I took it back apart and checked that all wires were seated properly. Any one know more about how the sleep light works that I do? What things should I look for?

Seems the problem has gone from intermittent to on all the time. Anyone experience something like this?

If you live near and Apple Store or a reseller, I would take it in and have it checked.
