Hello firends.

I have a Macbook Pro 17", Early 2011.

I used it very clean for a while. But one day it droped from nearly 40 cm. Its right corner crushed.

I decided to change the upper case. I bougt a new one. But it is not original. Anyway, i changed everything on the old upper case to the new one. The macBook is working.

But i have a porblem. That is the system doesent sleep anymore when i close the lid. I tried it on Windows (Bootcamp) and the sleep mode doesent work too.

Are there any solutions? i dont want to re use the old case because it is very difficult to change the case and it is already crushed :((

Thank you all for any help.
you can check the old case. If i forget to remove anything from it :)

There is a electric switch on one of the hinges of the MacBook Pro. It probably didn't survive the fall.

Look for it and any loose flimsy cable connections that may have made their way loose.

As for the case, either find a parts laptop and salvage what you need or time for eternal sleep and retirement.
