Sounds like your mac is waking on Network access. Check out the "energy" settings

D drjoan macrumors newbie Original poster Sep 13, 2012 2 0 Vancouver WA Sep 14, 2012 #3 Well, I tried the network access setting but it still pops on after I put it to sleep. pops on in about 5 seconds. On the other hand, I found it asleep on its own earlier this evening!
