Sleep turned into hibernate?

I made no change in settings (knowingly) and now instead of the snappy wake from sleep (pulsing light with case closed) after leaving my machine for hours, it does the progress-bar to login after pressing the power button.

thoughts?

Thank you so much. I'm on mode 3, so it would appear mode 0 will allow for a more 'instant' on all the time.

I've left it in mode 3, and it would seem that the "hibernate" mode is only active when i clamshell it with my powered usb hub attached.
