I have a late 2008 15-inch Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard and it keeps waking up when it detects movement.

Symptoms of waking from sleep are the screen flickering, the internal fan running, the hard disk running and the temperature of the CPU hitting 82c when lid is closed when it should be around 60c when I type this msg.

I have no USB devices attached, Bluetooth is turned off, Ethernet is not attached either.

So anyone know how to fix this? Help is much appreciated.

Look into your Activity Monitor and see if you have any suspicious processes that might be remaining active even when the lid is closed. That would be the first place I'd look.
