sleepimage

I have done a Disk inventory, and i found this pain text contain 3.4GB, i locate the file it said sleepimage = 2gb? what is sleepimage file? can i delete it?
I could find anything about the file on the search engine either.

don't delete it, it's a system file. that's where your computer saves everything (open programs, etc) when you sleep your computer.
