Sleeping when not tired?

Hey all,

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) running Catalina. My computer tends to fall asleep as if the battery were dead despite it being at various levels of charge. I have to plug it in for it to wake up and then I can unplug and use as normal. Any suggestions on why its behaving this way?
