Is there a sleep tracker app, and do you wear your AW while sleeping?

I ordered AW4 and should have it by the 21st, so excited. I've been a Fitbit user and thought that it's time to try Apple Watch. I know that the battery life has a big discrepancy, so I was just wondering if anybody uses their AW to track sleep.

I dont remember the name of the app I used to use for sleep tracking. But you just have to play the battery game well in order to sleep with it on.

I usually would charge it at night while I was getting ready for bed, wear it to sleep, and then let it charge again in the morning while getting ready for work. and that seemed to work most days to keep it fully charged each time I went to put it back on!

I like this routine. I'll try it when I have the AW4, thanks.

I wear the Watch at night but no longer look at the sleep and heart rate results. They are there if I need to show my doctor.

At night put the Watch in theater mode. Slide up on the screen and tap the icon with the tragedy/comedy masks. In this mode sounds are turned off and the screen doesn’t wake up unless you tap the screen or push on the crown. This avoids bothering you with unwanted light and it really helps the battery. I wake up with 95 to 100% battery remaining.

I haven’t tried it yet but some use of do-not-disturb will reduce other interruptions.

I came from a Fitbit as well and used that every night to track sleep! I haven't found anything that beats the Fitbit sleep tracking features yet. but I love my apple watch overall more than Fitbit so its worth it!

Plus, I was doing that battery charging routine with a Series 1 watch, so im sure the battery life of these S4 watches will be much better! :)

I don't at the minute but I'm going to look at purchasing "AutoSleep Tracker for Watch" and using my current S0 to wear overnight and the new S4 for daytime use. Seemed like a good use of the S0 as opposed to sticking it back in it's box.

Can you pair 2 watches to the same phone?

Or an iPad maybe?
Can I ask what your need for syncing 2 watches to the same device? I would assume an iPad would be the same as in iPod! I've never tried it though!

Depending on what your need is for, you might be better off buying a cheap iPhone 6 (or whatever the oldest model that still works with apple watch is) and having it sync to that instead?

I have used many apps, sticking mostly with pillow. The latest version is very good and is essentially automated. Plus, it uses essentially zero power. I go to bed with the watch at 100% and is either 98 or 99% when i wake up.

No need really just wondered

SleepWatch is the best app I've used. Super easy to set up and you don't have to do anything for it to track.

To keep my Series 0 charged for all-day and all-night use, I just charge it while getting around for the day and again while getting ready for bed. Does the trick perfectly!

did you pay for the pillow premium? or just use the free version?

I have the premium version. I had to look, because I couldn't remember. I've been using this app for about 2.5 years. I must have paid for premium to get the unlimited sleep history and data export capability, because I don't use a lot of the advanced features.

I also use SleepWatch. I find the Sport Loop band very comfortable for all night wear. Currently I charge my Series 3 every third day while I shower/dress.

My SleepWatch tracking (and confirmation of my non-restful, interrupted sleep) is one of the factors that's caused me to set up a sleep study. This is just another way I'm finding my Apple Watch contributing to my health.

Every third day?? Oh man, I cannot wait to receive my Series 4.

Does the app sync with the ios Health app for its statistics?

Yep. Charge before going to bed and for a few minutes while showering in the morning. I also use AutoSleep and its companion program, HeartWatch. I like them both.

I've tried sooooo many sleep apps, but the one I always come back to is AutoSleep. The developer recently released AutoWake which is the perfect companion alarm app for me - it wakes me during light sleep in the 30mins before my alarm and you can set auto-alarms if needed. Really easy to use.

I like Pillow second-best and was excited when they introduced automatic tracking, but unfortunately it can't be used with the alarm set (the alarm also supports light sleep phase activation, but this never worked for me). So I don't use that at all any more. SleepWatch is 3rd choice for me - looks very pretty and some interesting metrics, but just doesn't seem to grab me.

I do miss the Fitbit sleep tracking - I particularly loved the multiple rows so you could see several night's sleep at a glance. The nearest app that does that is Sleep++, but it's the crudest interface and the peaks and troughs that are so clear on Fitbit are more blurred together. Another is Sleep Tracker, but I found it hit and miss at detecting sleep.

There's also Sleep Pulse 3 - no auto tracking and the interface looked prettier than it was useful. I use their companion PowerNap app though and that works nicely.
