Just got a refurb 2012 MP. I noticed that when it's sleeping, it randomly seems to turn on, spins up the drives for a few seconds, then goes back to sleep. The screen never comes on though. I can just hear the power supply kick on and drives spinning up, then after 10 seconds or so the power supply kicks off.

Anyone hear about this? My 2006 never does this.

My 2010 did this until I turned off "Wake for Network Access" in the Energy Saver - Power tab.

In my case it was something to do with Bonjour services waking the MP. I originally thought it was something to do with Power Nap which was new in ML on Laptops at the time but after asking, I was pointed in the direction of a Terminal command to look for Wake events in the logs.

Look at posts 5 and 6 in this thread I started... https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1416544/

I hope that helps.
