About a week or so ago I bought a second-hand 23" display. I already owned one and wanted a second to give my MapPro (bought 2008 May) twin display. The first one I've had for about 10 months and had no problems. The second one performed ok for about three days and then inexplicably went black (sleep mode?)- there was nothing on the screen at this time, i was on the net on the first one. I couldn't wake it up.
I checked power and connections, etc. When I reconnected the DVI cable it woke up, but has since gone back to sleep too many times. I noticed the blinking power display -three short blinks - which I looked up on the net and found http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2811 so tried this... but it still randomly goes black. I also wonder why its signifying that an incorrect video signal or format is going into the monitor when it's the same as is going into my first one, and I've had no problems with that?
The monitors are coming off an NVIDIA 8800GT, if that adds anything to the equation...
Is the display faulty and should I return it, or is there a fix I can do?
