i'm putting together a slide show of pictures, scanned in at pretty high res (to allow full screen and movement and all that)...

i am doing it in after effects. then i will be assembling the pieces (various sections) in fcp.

curious what format i should export from ae in, and what to use in fcp? i guess since it's going to videotape (probably just vhs, blah), it's best to do it with dv, so i can output to my dv cam and then to vhs...

but, if i'm wrong, please let me know....

the pictures move/scale, and there are dissolves. but other than that, nothing too intense....

thanks

I just finished a project in FCP3, It seems DV is the industry standard, even iMovie really reads DV the best. I think I'd go that way, and good luck!

Export to the highest quality settings in DV NTSC. You can make output/render settings default to your specifications so you don't have to change it each time you 'make movie'. FCP should import them in a snap and be able to play with out rendering anything.

good luck

yeah. thanks guys.

just wasn't sure if "animation" or something would be better for stills.

but as i figured, dv seems the way to go. thanks again
