Hey Guys im a designer and kinda new to the whole audio/video side of things, so here is what I want to do. I want to bring in tracks of music and split them up and only use parts of them in a slideshow with pictures, maybe in Garageband is this possible or is there any other program i need that will make it easy. Thanks for the help. I have used itunes slideshow before but there is no way to split up songs.

It can be a fun world, but lots to learn.

Here's a start - great slideshow app that is VERY flexible:

http://boinx.com/

fotomagico 2 - try the free version, but there is the pro version too

i have to admit i add my audio in final cut pro, but i know you can add it in FM.

I also use audio hijack to record certain songs/voice overs. It allows you to stop it anytime which is handy for making smaller files to use.

good luck,
Keebler

I create all my slideshows in imovie. Lets you cut and rearrange both the imported audio and video and even record voiceovers from the microphone. If you don't mind the import times it's actually really easy to get a great effect. I'm using version 5.
