I've got a 2013 Retina 15" w/NVIDIA GPU, and allowing the wallpaper to activate heats the computer up and causes the fans to spin up.

Is this a known bug? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

The best thing I can do now is just to set a different wallpaper on each desktop.

I'm pretty sure it's a combination of the wallpaper resolutions (15MP) and OS X needlessly kicking in the dedicated GPU.

Since I never use a screensaver on battery I don't mind this bug that much. Hopefully it's fixed in Yosemite though.
