Recently, I watched a feed post on Instagram from Audrey Gelman. She managed to take still photos and make her Story slides look a lot like a Keynote or PowerPoint slideshow. Needless to say, with so many folks using Instagram Stories to make (poorly) improvised slideshow presentations, with (unreadable) tiny text crowding out the imagery, I felt it was time to ask what it takes to make legible, professional-looking presentations for social media, particularly Instagram feeds and Stories. After all, if we pay big money for these dedicated "office productivity" slideshow apps like PowerPoint and Keynote to produce professional-looking slideshows to show on a laptop hooked to a projector, why can't we harness that power to make presentations that can be tailored for social media?
Is the answer going to be the purchase of yet another app? Or is there some technique you have to learn?
The Instagram app seems to be very crude and inflexible, so I thought I would ask.
I volunteer for local public recreational trails and history organizations, and these efforts would benefit greatly if these organizations could set up social media accounts (Instagram, maybe YouTube), they might be more valuable in communicating with the public than a dedicated web-site.
