Sliding windows

My windows slide right as I go from email to Safari and when I close the net window the email window has vanished. This action by the windows is annoying to my eye condition. Can I return to the regular window action? I also can't have mail open and Safari open at the same time.

What you're describing is very strange. I think you should try setting up a "test" User Account. (you can call it anything you want) If this still happens when you're logged in under the new account, there are other things to try.
