When I play a song from iTunes it slightly stutters before it starts, only for like 1-2 seconds but it's annoying. This doesn't happen all the time but most often. Is this iTunes fault or MBP? Or is anyone else getting this problem? Thanks

  • Launch Activity Monitor and change "My Processes" at the top to "All Processes", then click on the CPU column heading once or twice, so the arrow points downward (highest values on top). Then look to see if anything may be consuming system resources and causing the stutter.
  • Try restarting your Mac and see if it does the same thing.
  • Does it happen on the same songs, or any song? It's possible you have some corruption in certain songs that can cause that. If that's the case, you may need to re-rip or re-download the problem songs.
