iPod Slightly buggy 2nd-gen nano?

hi, i just bought a nano (it's my first ipod). and i find that holding down the play button to turn it off is sometimes irresponsive. is there a certain that i should be doing it so that it works all the time?

like i hold it down, and even hear the click sound for when i press the button, but it just doesn't turn off.

Unfortunately I don't know the solution to your problem. However it happens to me too sometimes...I don't have the new nano, but it does it on other iPods. I was thinking that it has something to do with the fact that the play or pause button is activated Say if it is on play, you can't turn it off until it is on pause I don't know, but it does happen to me once in a while.
