Slim case with good protection

Hi. I am looking for a "rugged" case that is slim with great protection for the iPhone 6s. I have a Lifeproof Fre and it is perfect but I hate the screen protector though I understand that it is needed to make it waterproof and I use it as needed. Basically I am looking for something similar without the built in screen protector, and I'll add my own. I like how the protection doesn't cover the front part of the screen (like the Lifeproof Nuud.) Thanks for any help.
